DESCRIPTION:

The area nearby Frankfurt, covered mainly by meadow and reed communities, with small fragments of riverine forests.

HABITATS:

Lowland hay meadows (Alopecurus pratensis), floodplain meadows (Cnidion venosae), fresh and humid grasslands (Arrhenatherion, Calthion) and small fragments of psammophilous grasslands (Armerion elongatae) with rare plant species.

OTHER ANIMAL SPECIES:

Bombina bombina, Castor fiber, Lutra lutra.

PLANTS:

Eryngium planum, Silene tatarica, Silene conica.

COMMENTS:

The area protected as a nature reserve (Naturschutzgebiete no 1172).
