6. Ostrów Narocki

MOTIVES:

AREA:

    SAC

LOCATION:

    At km 170, approximately 2 km north-west of the village Narok.

AREA:

    Approximately 150 ha.

DESCRIPTION:

    Relatively small a fragment of leafy forests, with natural and semi-natural features, being the sole enclave of forest community between Zdzieszowice Riverine Forests and the mouth of Nysa and Stobrawa rivers. This enclave enables typically woodland plant and animal species to settle. Thus, in spite of the motivation limited to the occurence of two types of habitats, this area is important due to the environment protection in the whole Odra corridor.

HABITATS:

    Meso-eutrophic oak-hornbeam forests, elm-ash forests.

BIRDS (BD):

    Haliaeetus albicilla

COMMENTS:

    It is a part of the broadly-understood important bird area of the European rank (E-IBAE Poland 053).
